Legnano, Italian

Legnano is an Italian town situated in the north-west of the Province of Milan. It is crossed by the Olona river and the town was established in 1261. After the historic victory of the Lombard League over Frederick Barbarossa at Legnano, it is the only town other than Rome named in the Italian national anthem. Every year the people of Legnano commemorate the battle with Palio di Legnano, on 29 May, the day of the battle of Legnano. The city was the protagonist of a progressive urbanization in the 20th century and this attracted workers from different parts of Italy. In Legnano there is a historical subdivision into neighborhoods, for example Mazzafame, Ponzella, Frati, Olmina, Legnanello. The eight historical contrade competing at the Palio di Legnano are San Bernardino, La Flora, Legnarello, San Domenico, San Magno, San Martino, Sant'Ambrogio and Sant'Erasmo.

Vendas Novas, Portugal

Once upon a time there was a princess…in South Portugal, Évora district: the city of Vendas Novas.
Vendas Novas is a small and young city in Alentejo. We are about 10 thousand inhabitants. Our city is divided in several areas, so besides the town there is Afeiteira, Bombel, Landeira and Piçarras, but only two parish councils.
Here you can visit the Palácio das Passagens, that belongs to the Ministry of Defense, the royal fountain, associated to the construction of the palace, Palácio do Vidigal, the ethnographic museum, and the sports complex.
Every year we celebrate the exchange of the princesses, the reason why the Palácio das Passagens was built. Every 3rd Sunday we have a market.
As a traditional food we have Bifanas de Vendas Novas, already a trademark, and the grenades, a typical dessert.

Podlaskie stroje ludowe

W sumie dało to ciekawe połączenie tradycji z nowoczesnością. Pobudziło to w uczniach ich artystyczną kreatywność i chęć projektowania nowych wzorów w połączeniu z tradycyjnymi.
